Junior Programs
Tennis is more than a sport—it’s a pathway to fitness, confidence, and personal growth. At our club, we provide a supportive environment where players of all ages can improve their skills, build friendships, and enjoy the game. Our curriculum, developed by USPTA, PTR, and professional players, focuses on fundamentals, progressive training, and engaging drills. We aim to foster both excellence and enjoyment, ensuring every player grows at their own pace, while building a strong foundation for future success.
Winter 2025 SESSION
• The Winter 2025 Session begins on January 2nd and ends on April 12th.
• Registration for Winter clinics begins November 17th for current students in our fall program. New student enrollment will open on November 24th.
• There will be no classes from April 3rd -5th for Easter Break
• We’re offering a 20% discount on Red Ball classes for students enrolling in two or more classes within the same session. The discount applies to the additional classes only.
• New members will need to create an account with us prior to enrollment. You can create an account through our website by clicking Member Account. Once created, you will also be able to use the mobile app by downloading CourtReserve onto your mobile device.

Red Ball
ALL LEVELS | AGES 5 TO 10
Our Red Ball class gives a thrilling and fulfilling introduction to the sport of tennis. Using a carefully crafted curriculum of drills and games, participants will master the basic strokes, including the overhand serve. They will also improve their hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and movement skills. Players will work together through exercises that gradually introduce healthy competition, learning about victory (and defeat).

Orange Ball

Our Orange Ball class focuses on the 60-foot court, developing and reinforcing proper mechanics, stances and movement patterns. Players will improve their tracking, racquet head awareness, and swing control through a variety of technical drills, engaging games, and teamwork. As players increase their accuracy and timing, they will also learn basic strategies for competitive play in an exciting and healthy environment.

Our Green Ball class, played on a full-sized court, aims to solidify and reinforce a strong foundation, as players prepare to move on to the next level. Through a variety of drills, games and progressions, players will refine their technique for the forehand, backhand, volley, and serve. Players will also focus on overall awareness in relation to relaxation, tracking, contact, balance, and intention. Players will learn how to better anticipate balls and develop their strategic awareness skills.

Our Yellow Ball development class is specifically designed for teenagers who are either new to the game or have some experience. The class focuses on teaching the fundamental building blocks of sound technique, effective spacing, and movement to the ball. Intermediate / Advanced | Ages 12+
Our Yellow ball competitive program targets intermediate to moderately advanced players who are looking to take their game to the next level; whether that be competing in school, club teams, or tournaments. Players in this program have already established a strong foundation in the technical aspects of the game and are able to maintain a rally with a partner. Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, players will develop and refine every aspect of their game, including technical, physical and mental skills. The goal is to help players to become more confident and competitive on the court.

ADVANCED | Ages 12+
Our Yellow ball performance program is designed for serious young players who possess sound fundamentals, advanced court awareness, and a strong work ethic. This program is for players who are playing tournament tennis or have aspirations to do so. In this program, players will continue to develop their physical literacy as athletes, honing nuanced technique and body positioning; particularly as it relates to footwork and ball-striking. Every aspect of the game will be analyzed and developed, with a focus on advanced techniques, patterns of play, physical fitness, and mental toughness.

UTR Match Play
UTR matches run every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at 6pm.

CLINIC PLACEMENT
We understand that a child's development is influenced by a variety of factors such as innate ability, amount of practice, and physical attributes. Therefore, we don't think it's appropriate to limit a child's progress in a class solely based on their age. While we do provide broad age ranges as a general reference, we recommend considering the class prerequisites or recommendations for your child when registering.
All online enrollments are subject to approval by MRC.
Evaluations: To ensure proper placement, an evaluation will be conducted for players 8 years and older.

MAKE-UP POLICY
While we make every effort to accommodate make-up requests, make-ups are not guaranteed and are subject to availability. Make-ups may not be transferred to another person, redeemed for credit/cash, and must be used within the current session, no carryovers are allowed.
In order to qualify for a make-up, you must notify us in writing at least 24 hours in advance of the missed class. Email us at juniorclinics@maywoodracquetsclub.com with the date(s) you are out.
You will be placed on a waitlist and when availability opens we will notify you.Two (2) make-ups are permitted per session.
