Welcome to Padel at MRC

Padel is one of the fastest-growing racquet sports in the world — and it's easy to understand why. Played on an enclosed court with glass walls and metal fencing, padel combines the strategy of tennis with the creativity of squash. The walls are in play, the rallies are longer, and the game is genuinely social from the very first session.

You don't need a background in tennis to love padel. You just need to show up.

This fall, Maywood Racquets Club opens three dedicated indoor padel courts — bringing the full padel experience to Bergen County. Whether you've never held a padel racquet or you're already hooked on the game, there's a program built for you here.

Intro to Padel

Complete Beginners

New to padel? This is your starting point.

Intro to Padel is a small-group session designed for players picking up a padel racquet for the first time. In groups of four, you'll learn the fundamentals — court orientation, the serve, groundstrokes off the back wall, and the basics of doubles positioning. Equipment is provided.

The format is low-pressure and deliberately paced. Walk in a first-timer. Walk out knowing how the game works — and ready to play again.

▸ Small groups of 4 for maximum coaching contact

▸ 60-minute sessions

▸ All equipment provided

▸ No racquet sport experience required

Intermediate Clinic

Players with 3+ Months of Experience

Ready to level up? This is where padel starts to get interesting.

The Intermediate Clinic is for players who have the basics down and are ready to add real weapons to their game. Sessions are coach-led and technically focused — you'll work on the bandeja, the vibora, wall-play patterns, and court positioning that separates recreational players from competitive ones. Your coach will break down your game, identify what needs sharpening, and give you a clear picture of what to work on.

The game changes when you understand why the ball moves the way it does. That's what this clinic is for.

▸ Coach-led drills and technique sessions

▸ 90-minute sessions

▸ Focus on shot-making, wall play, and court strategy

▸ Best for players with 3+ months of experience

Round Robin

Intermediate and Above

The fastest way to become part of the MRC padel community is to play with everyone in it.

Our padel Round Robin rotates partners each round so you're constantly meeting new players, adapting to new styles, and accumulating competitive match reps. A coordinator manages the logistics — all you do is show up. Skill-bracketed divisions keep the matches honest and the points meaningful.

It's social. It's competitive. It's the best two hours of padel you'll have all week.

▸ Rotating partner format

▸ 2-hour events

▸ Skill-bracketed divisions for fair, competitive play

▸ Run weekly

Cardio Padel

Open to All Levels

Padel is already one of the most physically demanding racquet sports in the world. Cardio Padel turns that up.

Each 60-minute session follows a set structure: a movement and agility warm-up, a high-repetition drilling block, and a live-point finishing segment where the intensity peaks. You're always moving, always hitting, and always competing. Whether you're newer to the game or have been playing for years, the format is calibrated to keep every player working at their edge.

Come for the workout. Stay for the game.

▸ Open to all levels

▸ 60-minute high-intensity sessions

▸ Warm-up, drilling block, and live competitive play each session

Advanced Clinic

Players with a Solid Foundation

Train with intensity. Compete with purpose.

The Advanced Clinic is built for players who have moved beyond the fundamentals and are ready to push their technical, tactical, and physical game. Sessions are coach-driven and demanding — expect precision drilling, court-zone pattern work, and competitive scenarios designed to expose and close the real gaps in your game. You'll work on reading opponents, managing court positioning as a team, and executing under pressure — not just hitting better shots, but making better decisions.

This is structured development for players who want to compete at a higher level and are committed to the work it takes.

▸ Coach-led drills and technique sessions

▸ 90-minute sessions

▸ Focus on shot execution, tactical patterns, and team court management

Private Lessons

All Levels | One-on-one coaching

The fastest way to develop your padel game is one-on-one time with a coach who knows exactly what to work on.

Every session is built around your game, your goals, and where you are right now.
